advanced team stats, offensive player stats, defensive player stats, team stat visualizations, player stat visualizations, and WP graphs for that notable season.
It's great to have the season included for a few reasons. Now we get to see the offensive output of the '99 Rams--The Greatest Show on Turf. I was actually surprised that their EPA totals weren't higher. It was also the first season of the reconstituted Browns franchise, and 1999 was Peyton Manning's first winning season, leading the Colts to a 13-3 record in his second year.
We also get to see the full careers of guys like:
and notable steroid enthusiast David Boston.
And we are missing only one season worth of numbers for Fred Taylor and Randy Moss, and of course Manning.
One thing to note, however, is that the league recorded the times of each play in the data as the time of the start of the drive. As a result, the WP graphs can only display drive-level segments, and the WP numbers for the players will all tend to be a bit muted. All the plays are there. It's just that most of them appear to occur slightly earlier in the game than they did. Many of the games of the 2000 season are unfortunately recorded the same way. EPA is unaffected.
